School Uniforms
All schools in the Federal Way school district have dress codes as required by the school board. In general, students are expected to dress in a manner that reflects pride and respect for themselves, and which is appropriate for the activity in which they are participating.
In addition, some schools have taken the extra step of adopting a school uniform. Proponents of school uniforms say that academic performance and student behavior improves when students wear uniforms. Other benefits may include decreased bullying and teasing, and overall clothing cost savings.
Staff and parent are consulted before schools adopt uniforms. Currently, the following schools have uniform policies.
