1. The student operates the computer and its components.

  • 1.1 Identifies main hardware components and demonstrates responsibility in equipment use and care (printer, mouse, keyboard, floppy disk, RAM, and hard drive).
  • 1.2 Saves and prints to multiple locations
    • selects a printer from a variety of print options of print locations
    • uses "save as" to save a document to multiple locations and changes the file name.
  • 1.3 Uses navigation skills.
    • locates files on network and hard drive
  • 1.4 Uses computer organization skills
    • understands and uses virus protection software when downloading or transferring documents.
  • 1.5 Reads, interprets, and follows directions or documentation concerning and operation of software and hardware.

2. The student uses a variety of technology tools to communicate effectively.

  • 2.1 Creates, publishes, and communicates ideas using multimedia tools.
