Kindergarten Learning Expectations
The learning expectations listed below are for kindergarten. Students will be assessed based on their progress toward meeting these grade-level expectations.
Visual Arts Expectations
1. The student acquires the knowledge and skills necessary to create, to perform, and to respond effectively to the visual arts.
- 1.1 Understands and applies the concepts and vocabulary of line and color
- 1.2 Explores with creating visual artwork
2. The student applies the creative process with arts knowledge and skills to reason and solve problems.
- 2.1 Begins to explore using the senses and to describe visual art
3. The student uses visual art to communicate ideas and feelings.
- 3.1 Begins to explore using imagination and creativity to express ideas or understanding in visual art
4. The student understands how visual art connects to other subject areas, life, and work.
- 4.1 Begins to develop creative thinking skills
